2020 is shaping up to be an incredible year for Mitsubishi. This July saw the new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport 2020 unveiled in Thailand. What can we expect from the mighty 4x4? Well, there's been a facelift, the addition of new technology and features, and a comfortable redesign of the interior, and that's just for starters!
The Mitsubishi Pajero debuted in 1982, as a 4WD that would have magnificent performance on any surface. In fact, versions of the Pajero have won the gruelling Dakar Rally 12 times.
The Pajero Sport is a sleek, exciting reworking of the Pajero. It can still handle rough terrain, but it's also a comfortable and stylish way to pick the kids up from school. With the Pajero Sport 2020, the car is getting new features and a new look.
Automotive journalists have been loving the new looks coming out of Mitsubishi factories. Recently, the new Triton ute debuted with a muscular, square look, and it seems as though the Pajero Sport 2020 will be adopting the same sort of aesthetic – it's rolling off the same production line. Keep an eye on the new bonnet, nose, Dynamic Shield grille and thinner LED headlights. With a reworked bumper and differently placed fog-lights, the car as a whole has a wider, more powerful look.
This update is the first major change to the Pajero Sport since it launched in 2015. You can expect to see many of the breakthroughs that Mitsubishi has made in comfort and technology making their way to the car. These breakthroughs include updates to cameras, dashboard upgrades, ergonomic seating, phone integration, and a modish interior design.
The new 20MY Pajero Sport adopts a more refined, powerful appearance, complemented with a refreshed interior that delivers quality and comfort. Designers have added a new digital instrument display and an easy-to-read 8 inch colour LCD screen complete with Apple and Android link functionality.
There’re also the safety modifications that will be introduced, with sensors and innovative changes to the breaking systems. Just like the rest of Mitsubishi's new vehicles, you can bet it'll feature the maximum 5-star safety rating.
Currently, there has been no release date in New Zealand, but industry speculations tip that you might be able to get your hands on the Pajero Sport 2020 as soon as the last quarter of 2019.
