A NEW LEVEL OF DRIVING EFFICIENCY AND POWER

The new 20MY Outlander PHEV is more efficient and powerful than ever. The larger displacement 2.4L petrol engine is supplemented by a higher output rear electric motor. The combined electric motor only power has now been increased to 130kW.

Plus, with an all new sports mode, low and mid-range acceleration gets a boost—as does a brand new 4WD snow mode.

The battery capacity has been increased, too, by 15% (up to 13.8kW).

With a complete charge taking just 9.8KWh of electricity and an EV range of up to 55 kilometres, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV can run on its EV battery for a fraction of the cost of conventional petrol or diesel.

HOW DOES THE PHEV ENGINE WORK?

The PHEV system uses two electric motors at the front and rear axles (130kw combined power) to instantly supply torque for all-wheel drive. In the EV Drive MODE, the vehicle is driven only by the motors using the electricity stored in the drive battery. Series Hybrid Mode: Once the drive battery level is low or when powerful thrust is required such as during rapid acceleration or hill climbing, the vehicle is driven only by the motors using engine generated electricity. Parallel Hybrid Mode: In high-speed driving when the engine runs efficiently, the vehicle is driven by the engine and is assisted by the motors.

Diamond Advantage

The new Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV comes with:

  • 5 year/100,000 km comprehensive manufacturer’s warranty
  • 5 years premium road side assistance
  • 8 year warranty specific to the drive battery, which is very reassuring for one of the vehicle’s main components.

The PHEV system uses two 60kW electric motors at the front and rear axles to instantly supply torque for all-wheel drive. All-electric driving is powered by the high-capacity 12kWh lithium-ion battery pack and doesn’t require the engine for assistance. For non-electric driving, a clean and efficient 2.4L gasoline engine is utilised.

The braked towing capacity of 20MY Outlander PHEV models is 1,500kg.
