GOING FOUR WHEEL DRIVING? YOU'LL NEED MITSUBISHI TRITON

24 May 2019

For New Zealand's Four-Wheel Driving enthusiasts, it doesn't get any better than the revamped 2019 Mitsubishi Triton. With an improved ground clearance, a powerful engine, and Mitsubishi's market leading Super Select system for changing between driving modes, the new Triton navigates rough terrain with ease.

Glorious Redesign

The 2019 Triton takes a great car and makes it even better with some intuitive new redesigns. In fact, there have been over 2,400 changes since the release of the last model. Some of the more interesting updates include a repositioning of the fog lights. Those have been raised up higher on the face of the car, to protect them from damage that might be sustained by low-lying debris. It's not the only thing that has been raised—this model has an improved ground clearance, which means you can tackle bigger obstacles with greater confidence. It's all part of what makes the 2019 Triton stand head and shoulders above other four-wheel drive utes.

Some Seriously Smart Technology

In some respects, the Triton is an absolute beast; it has a huge surplus of power and an aggressive muscular front end. That said, this new Triton has also been described by reviewers as 'the thinking man's ute'. The 2019 model is a seamless blending of brute strength with cutting edge modern technology. The end result is top notch four-wheel drive performance. So, basically, not only will you have the oomph to get up the steepest of inclines, but you'll also have automated help from Hill Descent Control to make sure you get down again safely.

Super Select

The Triton has a number of different driving modes, each of which are suited to different speeds and terrains. You can go from 2 wheel drive on sealed roads, and then switch over with Mitsubishi's advanced and proven Super Select technology to driving one of the best four wheel drive vehicles on the market.

Even on sealed roads up to speeds of 100 kilometres per hour, you can switch over to full-time 4WD. From there, you can turn it up to 4WD High Range with Locked Centre Diff, which can handle all but the roughest terrain. For that, you'll need 4WD Low Range with Locked Centre Diff.
