The All-New ASX VR-e. Mitsubishi Goes Fully Electric.

Mitsubishi's first battery electric vehicle in over a decade arrives in New Zealand in November 2026. Designed in partnership with Italian design house Pininfarina, built by EV manufacturer Foxtron, and backed by the Mitsubishi network Kiwis have relied on for more than fifty years.

A Name You Know. A Car You Have Not Seen Before.

The ASX has been one of New Zealand's most familiar compact SUVs for years. The VR-e badge is new. It takes its name from the Galant VR-4, and it signals exactly what this car is: sporting character, fully electric. 

Designed with Pininfarina

Every line on the ASX VR-e does something. Look closer and you will see it. 

  • S-duct channelling airflow from the front bumper up over the bonnet 
  • Active grille shutters that adjust to reduce aerodynamic drag 
  • Horizontal stripe motifs through the front and rear lighting signatures 
  • Matching stripe detail carried through the C-pillars and wheel design 
  • Horizontal LED lighting with dynamic welcome lights 

Four Models. One Range.

The ASX VR-e will be offered across four models, headed by the high-performance GSR. 

  • LS 
  • XLS 
  • Exceed 
  • GSR, heading the range 

Pricing and full specification for each model will be announced by Mitsubishi Motors New Zealand in the coming months.
