The All-New Pajero. The Icon Returns.

The Pajero name is back. This is the fifth generation and the first all-new Pajero since 2006, rebuilt on a ladder frame chassis with seven seat capacity, a new eight speed automatic and Mitsubishi’s Super Select 4WD-II. It arrives at Simon Lucas Mitsubishi in December. Register your interest and we will be in touch with New Zealand pricing, specification and test drive details as soon as they are released.

Why Register Your Interest

Drive It First

Registered customers have the opportunity to get behind the wheel of the all-new Pajero at our exclusive test drive weekend, before it is released to the general public.

First to Know

You will be among the first to receive New Zealand pricing, specification and arrival information, straight from our team, as soon as it is confirmed.

Forty Four Years in the Making

Since its launch in 1982 the Pajero has sold more than 3.3 million vehicles worldwide across four generations. The fifth generation is a substantial departure from the model it replaces. It moves to a ladder frame chassis, and it is built in Thailand alongside the Triton, with a body and interior of its own.

Built to Go Further

The Pajero uses a heavily modified version of the Triton ladder frame, with thicker side members and additional cross bracing. The front and rear of the chassis have been developed exclusively for the Pajero.

  • Front double wishbone suspension for greater lateral rigidity
  • Five link rigid rear suspension, balancing off-road ability with ride comfort
  • Super Select 4WD-II with 2H, 4H, 4HLc and 4LLc modes
  • Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC), as fitted to the all-wheel drive Outlander
  • Seven drive modes: Eco, Normal, Gravel, Snow, Mud, Sand and Rock
  • Rear differential lock

Seven drive modes, and a chassis reworked for the hard stuff.

Diesel Power, Refined

At launch the Pajero will be offered with a 2.4 litre turbo diesel four cylinder producing 150kW and up to 480Nm of torque, paired with a new generation eight speed automatic transmission. Torque output varies by specification.

Seven Seats, Built for the Long Haul

The cabin is a clean sheet design. The tall dashboard takes its layout from the first generation Pajero, finished in soft touch materials with a stitching technique inspired by the traditional Japanese craft Kimekomi.

  • 14.3 inch infotainment and driver display screens, with 12.3 inch displays on selected variants
  • Physical climate controls retained below the central touchscreen
  • Dynamic Sound Yamaha Ultimate audio, twelve speakers with active noise compensation
  • Wireless phone charging, USB-C in the front and in the front seatbacks
  • Second row seats slide 150mm to free up third row access and legroom
  • A third row Mitsubishi says offers ample headroom, even for adults, plus a dedicated rear climate panel

Room for seven, and the quiet to go with it.

A Design That Nods to the Original

The new Pajero is upright and boxy, and the detail rewards a closer look.

  • Full width light bars front and rear, with an animated front lighting signature
  • C-shape motif either side of the grille, with a Dakar inspired hexagonal grille also available
  • Ladder-like C-pillar detail, inspired by the roll bar of the first generation model
  • Spare wheel relocated beneath the rear of the vehicle
  • Six colours, headed by Armor Copper and Phantom Blue
  • A wide accessory range, including bull bars
