What’s New About The New Mitsubishi Mirage 2020?

The New Mitsubishi Mirage 2020 - Sleeker and More-Feature Packed Than Ever

The new-look 2020 Mitsubishi Mirage is set to arrive in March with its stylish and sleek aesthetics, significantly improved sporty interior that for the first time features an infotainment system, and bright new shadeSand Yellow. The Mirage Hatch is clearly Mitsubishi looking to take on the immensely popular Kia Picanto, and with the all new Mirage’s updated look, fresh technology and range of new features, it looks like the fight for micro-car sector dominance is going to be a hard-fought battle.

What’s New Outside?

So, what’s really new with the 2020 Mitsubishi Mirage? Starting with the exterior, the new model adopts the ‘Dynamic Shield’ front fascia design of Mitsubishi’s immensely popular ute and SUV, the Triton and Pajero Sport. This updated new look — its second facelift since 2012 — delivers more powerful aesthetics, enhanced safety, and brings the appearance of the Mirage more in line with its larger Mitsubishi vehicles such as the SUVs

Further points of difference for the 2020 Mirage include new 15-inch Alloy wheel with machine finished design and halogen lights in the bumper, which is now featured in the chosen body colourSo you should expect to see a new design grille, new design hood, new design front bumper and new rear bumper. The halogen headlights have a new angular design and the halogen daytime running lights are now standard and help towards a safer driving experience by offering an increased road visibility. While previous Mirage models were seen as somewhat bland, the new-look Mitsubishi Mirage delivers both style and sportiness, and will surely appeal to a wider market than the current and earlier models.

All New Interior

The all new 2020 Mirage doesn’t disappoint inside either, and Mitsubishi has gone all out to deliver an improved interior defined by quality, aesthetic appeal and comfort. Starting with the dashboard, the fresh new layout is built around the infotainment system — a 7.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, and AM/FM radio — and is curvaceous and comfortable. This model receives black-on-black interior colour scheme along with key added specification:

  • New black fabric seat material
  • New unique SDA (Smartphone Link Display Audio) with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility
  • New door trim with soft touch armrest
  • New combination meter design with outside temperature, Lane Departure Warning and Forward Collision Mitigation displays added
  • Cruise control now standard

Seat designs are sportier than earlier models with premium black woven cloth and feature prominent stitching and piping, while the ‘soft-touch’ armrests add an element of luxury that’s long been missing from the micro-car market.

Just as Economical and Reliable as Ever

While there’s been a slew of interior and exterior updates and upgrades with the all new 2020 Mitsubishi Mirage that have transformed its appearance inside and out, some things haven’t changed. The power train remains unchanged in the new model, which means the new Mirage will still be powered by its economical yet powerful 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine which delivers 58kW/102Nm, but the 2020 edition now features a CO2 emissions output of 115 g/km.

Peace of mind and on-road confidence are paramount, so the 2020 Mitsubishi Mirage features now a reversing camera with audio screen displaylane departure warning and forward collision mitigation — all as standard.
