MEET THE MITSUBISHI TRITON 2019

The Mitsubishi Triton has a reputation as a hard-working utility vehicle. The latest 2019 model has revamped the thinking man’s ute inside and out, resulting in a vehicle with superb handling and offers incredible value for money. The new Triton features a tough square look and has received over 2,400 enhancements including upgrades to the transmission, suspension, brakes and 4WD systems of the vehicle. Advanced safety features are now available throughout the range, making it one of the most advanced utes in the segment.

Exterior

The new 2019 model features a number of changes to the exterior. The Triton now sports a broad, tough face with iconic dynamic shield styling and new guards that add width to the face and body of the truck. A new step bumper and tail lights square the rear of the truck.

There are a number of visual differences for each model, including:

• GLX - Material black grill, dynamic shield and front bumper garnish that matches the body colour, halogen headlamps, turn indicator and DRL/fog combo in bumper (no fog on cab chassis model).
• GLX-R - Silver type grill, chrome dynamic shield, silver painted front bumper garnish, halogen headlamps, turn indicator, DRLs and fog in bumper.
• VRX - Silver type grill, chrome dynamic shield, silver painted front bumper garnish, LED with LED DRL headlamps, turn indicator and fog in bumper.

The revised look of the tray makes for a striking new rear of the Triton. Features include the new rear combination lamp and the robust new rear step bumper. The chrome tailgate garnish integrates the reversing camera on the GLX-R and VRX models.

Interior

The interior of the Triton has also been thoroughly revised to provide a modernised premium experience for drivers and passengers, with the following features updated:

• Centre panel
• Shift panel
• Centre console knee pad
• Door trim
• Cup holders
• Dashboard display
• Armrest
• Parking brake Lever
• Rear USB ports
• Rear air circulator

 

Performance

The 2019 Triton gains a new 6 speed automatic transmission, giving it a broadened gear ratio, reducing the rpm and engine noise when the vehicle is driving at higher speeds. Front braking performance has also been significantly improved. Thanks to bigger shock absorbers, on road bumps and vibrations have been reduced, meaning you can enjoy a more comfortable ride.

Safety Features

The 2019 Triton has advanced safety features including forward collision mitigation and lane departure warning. These features are a first for a ute. It also has larger brake rotors and an additional piston in each calliper, making for safer driving.

In the VRX 4x2, you get blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert, front parking sensors and multi around view monitors. All this for only $2,000 more than the previous model. The GLXR and above models have 18” alloys and tyres rather than 17”, meaning better handling, cornering and braking.
