"We called in yesterday to enquire about a new vehicle. We currently run a Hyundai 2015 3.3 V6 and were thinking of changing. As we pulled up, we were greeted by Patrick and he engaged with us as to what we were looking for. Upon sorting our requirements, we then moved to the office to try to sort an agreement out. The whole exercise was a seamless operation! Having managed shops for most of my career, I know that people only complain and never compliment the person who they have contact with. 10,000 km in a new Pajero Sport
"Driving away from Simon Lucas Mitsubishi I wondered if it was possible to remember all the features Mike had been through in our ninety-minute induction session. We were motoring away in our new Pajero Sport to undertake a four month tour of the South Island. The double cab ute we had traded was more than capable of undertaking the off-road maneuvers required, but we felt we needed something more comfortable as we would be in the vehicle for extended periods of time while towing our 22 foot caravan.
Being a novice off-road driver, at first my navigator and I were a little weary of what may lie ahead. However, after several soft water-crossings and a couple of gentle hillclimbs, we began to get the hang of it!
At least three of our ascents were to heights of above 6,000 ft. This of course mean that once we had gone up, we had to come down! The challenge was not to damage the Pajero’s brakes or allow them to heat up too much, or they could potentially set fire to the grass back down at the bottom. The Hill Descent Control feature was invaluable as it made many kilometers of slippery downhill tracks manageable.
Finding our way to some of these remote places meant we occasionally overshot a turnoff and we would have to find our way back, which can be a problem with a 22 foot caravan! Often, we would have to go many miles before finding a safe place to turn around. Luckily for us, the Pajero has an excellent lock and with the help of the 4WD, we were often able to execute a u-turn where those travelling wit us in their 8 meter motorhomes had trouble.
The weather in the South Island during autumn was predictably pleasant with warm days and cooler evenings. However, one morning we woke in Methven to the caravan rocking and rolling. A Northwester was blowing! It was fascinating to feel the hot strong gale winds, but driving proved difficult. Our progress was slow, especially when we were hit by gusts from the side. Thankfully, the Trailer Stability Assist played its part and we made it through without any major hitch.
Our thoughts on the Pajero Sport after four months and 10,000km of travel, is that it is a very comfortable vehicle that can go places no car should ever have to go! Mechanically, we had no problems at all and the dealers we dealt with around the country when we needed help were more than helpful. Plus it looks good."

A great petrol ute by Great Wall
"We purchased one of the first Great Wall utes from Simon Lucas North Shore. We don’t do the mileage to justify Diesel, so we got a petrol ute. Besides, there’s nothing wrong with the petrol engine in the Great Wall. I’ve done a fuel economy check and found the figures Great Wall quotes of around 10.1 litres per 100km are about right. The ute drives well, carries a good load and has a great stereo. I’ve done 6000kms so far and I’m really pleased with it.
